Leading experts in food, drink and sustainability offer free masterclass to Shropshire businesses.
Next week a group of food, drink and marketing experts will begin a 2-day transformative sustainability masterclass designed especially for Shropshire businesses.
Scheduled for 4th and 18th of June 2024 at the University Centre Shrewsbury, the masterclass is designed to encourage local food and drink businesses to adopt robust sustainability practices, guided by some of the most celebrated experts in the industry.
This unique opportunity will offer in-depth insights but also practical strategies to help businesses not only adopt green practices, but also communicate them effectively to their stakeholders and customers.
The first workshop on 4th June will be led Caroline Mason (right). Founder of Seeds to Thrive,
Caroline brings over 20 years of global and domestic experience in the food industry.
The second workshop on 18th June is led by local marketing expert, Louise Welsby. Louise has 26 years of experience in communication and a passion for collaboration. She has successfully supported hundreds of businesses in developing effective marketing strategies.
Both workshops will be further supported by experts from the food and drink Industry. Rebecca Greenhalgh is the head of Sustaining Shropshire at Harper Adams University, a project that offers free support to Shropshire’s agri-tech and food and drink sectors.
Liza Freudmann is the founder of BLA Sustainability and a highly experienced marketeer. She has worked previously for Marks & Spencer leading their ‘Plan A Strategy’ which aims to make M&S a net zero business across all its operations and entire value chain by 2040.
Also joining both masterclasses will be Wildjac Distillery. Wildjac Distillery is known for its passion for the environment and its adoption of ‘eco-conscious’ practices across all its processes. Representatives from the company will show how their green initiatives have driven commercial growth and strengthened their brand and demonstrate how sustainability can be a powerful tool for business success.
Emma Chapman, manager of the Shropshire Growth Hub, which has organised these sessions alongside Louise Welsby said,
“This is a unique opportunity for our food and drink businesses. They will have free access to a group of leading experts who will help with their marketing, create a bespoke sustainable business action plan, and guide them into the next stage of their development. The sessions take place on 4th & 18th June from 9.30am – 4.00pm at the University Centre Shrewsbury. The masterclass comprises of BOTH sessions.
