The Marches LSIPs stands for the Marches (Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Herefordshire) Local Skills Improvement Plan. The Department for Education have asked Chambers of Commerce across the Country to talk directly to businesses to understand their skills and training needs, both now and into the near future. Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is the project leader for the Marches.
The Chamber need to talk to private sector employers large and small, face to face or via a simple discussion survey to understand their training requirements, preferred methods of delivery of that training and how that can improve skills or fill the skills gaps they face.
Though focusing on four main sectors, the survey is open to any private sector employer.
• Engineering & Manufacturing including food & drink manufacture
• Professional Services
• Construction including environmental technologies
• Health & Social Care
The Department for Education is keen to hear how they can improve training to ensure the right workforce for the future.
