Offering businesses advice on the types of support, grants and other programmes that they can access to help them start, or grow their business.
“Working within the Business Growth & Investment team on the Marches Growth Hub programme, I enjoy a role that is exciting and diverse.
The Marches Growth Hub Shropshire provides the gateway for business support in the county.
Unsurprisingly, many businesses find the business support and finance landscape confusing. They are often unsure about which options to choose. We also understand that sometimes small business owners have difficulty finding time to work ‘on’ their business rather than just ‘in’ it.
I help both start-up and small businesses in Shropshire and the wider region to identify how they can benefit from that support and, along with our specialist business advisers, signpost businesses to programmes that best fit their needs.
From initial enquiry through to more formal business one-to-ones, we seek to help businesses to survive, develop and grow.
The Growth Hub can offer a number of projects to suit a range of business needs. As well as general support we can also offer programmes tailored to specific sectors. A current example is 12 hours, fully funded support from our team of business specialists, from marketing to business strategy.
In order to reach as many businesses as possible we also work in collaboration with Shropshire Libraries to deliver our outreach support programme, ‘Let’s do business in…’, all over the county.
Here we offer businesses and entrepreneurs the opportunity to drop into their local library and meet members of the business support community.
What can you expect from the Marches Growth Hub Shropshire when you contact us?
You’ll be offered an initial telephone discussion to help identify the support that is relevant to you and your business. You will then have the option to meet with a specialist adviser. This can be online via Zoom, or in person at our local growth hub offices on Battlefield, Shrewsbury.
At your initial meeting our adviser will want to understand what your growth plans are and look at the best ways to support you.
If you would like to find out more, please feel free to contact me on the email above or message me on LinkedIn.
I feel very lucky to be able to work with such passionate and innovative businesses here in Shropshire”.
