About the Fund
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) was a government-allocated fund managed by local authorities in partnership with local stakeholders. It was put in place to replace funds previously provided by Europe and aimed to reduce inequalities between communities.
Between 2022 and 2025 the overarching objective of the fund was to build pride in place and increase life chances under 3 investment priorities: People and Skills, Community and Place, and Supporting Local Business. In 2025 Shropshire was awarded a further £1,431,774 capital and £2,892,904 revenue funding for 2025/6 enabling many of the projects and initiatives to continue for another year. These projects have now all been successfully delivered and completed.

Evaluation of the UKSPF & Rural Fund in Shropshire
Shropshire Council asked Paula Rogers Consulting in September 2025 to look at how the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Rural Fund had been delivered up to March 2025. Together worth £13.4 million, the Funds were designed to boost pride in place, improve life chances and support a stronger local economy.
The evaluation explores what has been achieved across Communities and Place, Supporting Local Business and People and Skills, and how the Rural Fund has helped rural communities. Using data, feedback and real case studies, it highlights what has worked well, the challenges faced and what we can learn for future regeneration.
