The location acts as a gateway to the West and Irish export market, with access to the West, North West and Welsh/Western M4 corridor.
The Marches food economy has close links (via A5 to Holyhead and M4 to Milford Haven/Fishguard) to Ireland.

In addition, due to the location of The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital – a national centre of excellence for orthopaedic and spinal surgery, life sciences, clinical research trials and support – there are considerable opportunities within the innovative healthcare sector to be explored.
A drive towards sustainability & long-term growth
A plan-led approach is being undertaken designed to drive long term sustainability in Oswestry and creating the conditions for employment growth.
This approach is considering proposals to accelerate housing and employment land developments: these include Strategic Road Network improvements, access improvements, infrastructure costs, energy generation options, relocation of services, and land and infrastructure costs to facilitate construction of employment land and road access
New pedestrian and cycle footbridge completed
The completion of a new pedestrian and cycle footbridge will provide a direct link between Oswestry Innovation Park, the wider Sustainable Urban Extension and nearby residential areas.
This improved connection will encourage walking and cycling, reduce reliance on car travel, and significantly enhance accessibility for local employees, residents and visitors.
Moving from planning to delivery
Oswestry Innovation Park is moving from the planning phase into delivery,with key enabling infrastructure now complete and development activity underway
It is a flagship employment site within the Oswestry Sustainable Urban Extension, designed to support long‑term economic growth and attract new investment to the town.
