About us and our partners

Working to make Shropshire a great place to live, learn and work is the vision of Shropshire Council.

Invest in Shropshire is part of the Council’s Economic Growth Service; whose remit is to create the conditions for economic growth and resilience across the county. It strives to support companies looking to invest in the county, and those that are already based here to facilitate business growth.

Shropshire has a long-established private sector-led Business Board to ensure the county’s business representation and participation at the local, regional and national level.

Supporting Shropshire in its work to build a sustainable platform for business success are the following organisations.

West Midlands Combined Authority

Shropshire Council is a non-constituent member of the West Midlands Combined Authority allowing us to further collaborate with stakeholders at a regional and sub-regional level, and with Government at a national level, in order to maximise the opportunities for the County to realise its policy intentions in the long term.

Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)

The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership works at a sub-regional level to provide the conditions for sustainable growth and prosperity. It is a key strategic partner and funding body working for the benefit of the business community and the people who live and work in the Marches (Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin).

It has recently launched the Marches Growth Hub – a single point of access bringing together all the local and national products and services in place to support businesses locally – whatever their sector, size or stage of growth.
